Name: Bill Lipp
Position: Marketing Strategist

Q: How long have you been with J2?
A: I got to know Jane around the time that Wingspan was breaking ground at the Chandler Airport and met Jason soon after that. Each time that I met with J2’s Dynamic Duo, I was more and more struck by our mutual desire to help the people that we work with to achieve the goals that they have for their business. I am a big proponent of being customer-centric and longed to be back in an environment where the culture fostered that desire. I shared my thoughts with Jane and Jason and here we are, working together! So I’m new to J2, but have had my own full-service advertising agency since 2004.

Q: What do you love most about your job?
A: Using my expertise in strategy and media to help clients achieve their business goals. I appreciate each client’s expertise in their own business and when they recognize what we can do for them; entrusting us to steward their marketing resources with great results….there is nothing more rewarding than that!

Q: Tell us how you got started doing what you do!
A: I spent twenty years building successful sales teams and client relationships in radio, cable TV and broadcast TV. By moving to the client/agency side, I was able to amp those results by selecting the perfect mix of media for each client unfettered by the constraints of a single media organization. At the end of the day, it’s about increasing awareness for each client and then monetizing that awareness into creating customers and customer loyalty.

Q: What are you doing when you’re not working?
A: I love great writing, regardless of the medium so reading, TV and film are my escapes.

Q: What’s your favorite film and why?
A: Trading Places was filmed in my hometown; the story told in an entertaining way and has a great ending. I know every line by heart. Midnight Run is a close second for the same reasons, except a good portion of that one was filmed in The Copper State.

Q: What are three random facts we don’t know about you?
A: I am past Board Chair of the Mental Health Association of Southeastern Pennsylvania and have a deep concern for assisting vulnerable populations; enjoy the beauty and design of old coins; and could subsist entirely on diner/deli food.
